The move will support further growth for the family-owned company
August 5, 2020, Dayton, OR – The Stoller Wine Group family of brands is outpacing the Oregon wine category averages in dollar sales and volume across the nation for the 52-weeks ending June 21, 2020, according to IRI data. Over the last five years, the company has seen revenue growth of 117 percent. To support this growth, the Stoller Wine Group has realigned its national sales team, appointing Bryan Schoen to vice president of national sales, and Patrick McBride to vice president of chains.
“As our wineries quickly grow into nationally recognized brands, we needed to realign our team of all-star veterans to achieve further strategic growth,” said Gary Mortensen, president of the Stoller Wine Group. “Bryan’s management style and industry expertise made him a natural fit to lead our team, while Patrick’s experience working with national chain accounts proved invaluable.”
Stoller Family Estate is the fastest growing top 20 Oregon brand across the U.S., outpacing the category four times faster in dollar sales and five times faster in total volume sold. The brand generates more profit per point of distribution from retail customers at $33.87 than the category average of $28.57. Similarly, Chehalem is currently a top 40 Oregon brand and quickly accelerating. It’s growing five times faster than the Oregon wine category in dollar sales, and four times faster in volume. Chemistry, the newest brand, is the fastest growing in the Stoller Wine Group portfolio, with an increase of 140 percent in both dollar sales and volume. This growth is largely driven by price with all three Chemistry wines falling within one of the fastest growing price segments, $14.99 – $19.99. And, Canned Oregon is one of the top-selling wine-in-a-can brands across the U.S. with placements in more than 40 markets.
“Our brands are on fire and we couldn’t be more excited,” said Schoen. “I joined this company predicated on the greatness of the portfolio and the people involved. I believe that we haven’t even scratched the surface of what’s possible, and I look forward to leading this group to the very top of the Oregon wine industry.”
Bryan Schoen joined the Stoller Wine Group in January 2019 to support the Midwest region with on- and off-premise channels. Schoen has more than 17 years’ experience in the beverage industry, including working for a large California winery where he led a team of seven responsible for 324,000 cases. With 22 years of wine and spirits industry experience, Patrick McBride joined the Stoller Wine Group team in June 2020. Prior to joining the team, Patrick served as vice president of chains for Young’s Market Company Oregon where he managed a team of account executives that were responsible for calling on the largest retail customers in the state. Over the course of his career, Patrick has called on national accounts across the U.S. while working on the supplier side for Fetzer-Concha y Toro, Diageo Spirits, and Barton Brands (now owned by Constellation).
