Oregon Based Double Zero Wines Unveils First Release of Limited Edition Corton-Charlemagne for Collectors of the World’s Finest White Burgundy

Carlton, OR (April 16, 2020) – Luxury producer, Double Zero Wines “00”, announces the long awaited release of its 2017 Corton-Charlemagne–the result of an intense labor of love that has been in the making for this small family-owned business since their beginnings in 2013. What began as a dream to produce world-class Grand Cru chardonnay and pinot noir across two continents has now become a reality. Produced in partnership with 00 Wines’ international team in France, the Corton-Charlemagne brings forth an exquisite white burgundy that blends bi-continental winemaking talents with the distinctive desire to push the potential of pinot noir and chardonnay forward.

Taste alongside proprietors Chris and Kathryn Hermann HERE, as they take the release virtually and share the long-awaited unboxing moment.

Double Zero Wines proprietor Chris Hermann notes the significance of the Corton-Charlemagne release, “While circumstances surrounding the release have been adjusted in light of Covid-19, our pursuit of excellence has remained constant. What was once a vision driven by family passion has brought forth an innovative wine that is not only a conversation piece, but will also bring enjoyment in collecting, celebrating, and consuming.”

Creating wine and champagne across two continents, 00 Wines has tapped an international team of winemakers in Burgundy and Champagne that are directly involved in the farming of the Grand Cru sites. Working hand-in-hand with proprietors Chris and Kathryn Hermann to produce micro lot Grand Cru wines, the Oregon-based team makes several trips to France each year to curate its vintage releases, using careful winemaking practices that honor these heritage sites.

The 2017 00 Corton-Charlemagne showcases the exceptional terroir of the Hill of Corton through the fresh, brilliant and concentrated flavors, mineral tension, and dense texture resulting in a structured wine with a long finish. The 2017 White Burgundy vintage has been called a classic to buy and store according to 2017 vintage reports by top Burgundy critics. 2017 00 Corton-Charlemagne is a collector’s piece that fits within the pantheon of iconic Corton-Charlemagne producers either classic or modern in style.

Produced in micro lots, 25 cases of the 2017 Corton-Charlemagne are available to members of the Very Good Wine Club and select domestic and international rare wine brokers. The Corton-Charlemagne is available beginning in April 2020 at www.00wines.com. For more information, to review, or schedule a tasting, contact Haley Messner at Messner@fastoforwardevents.com
