Redwood Empire Food Bank to Benefit from Every Bottle of Wine Sold

Papapietro Logo(Sonoma County – CALIF.) – To support neighbors in need within the community of Sonoma County, Papapietro Perry Winery has made a commitment to the Redwood Empire Food Bank with a $2 donation for every bottle of wine sold directly from the winery.

“We were saddened to hear of Coronavirus cases throughout Northern California and the entire country as the pandemic began to grow,” said Renae Perry CEO and co-owner of Papapietro Perry Winery, “To keep our staff and visitors safe, we closed our tasting room when the California Department of Health issued the Stay at Home Order. The loss of work is real and very close to us. Our team wanted to help, and we unanimously selected the Redwood Empire Food Bank as a beneficiary.”

Papapietro Perry Winery’s tasting room professionals have taken their expertise online, hosting both group and private virtual meet-ups and tastings often featuring Winemaker Ben Papapietro. The winery has also made it easy and convenient to purchase wine offering $5 flat shipping, delivery within Sonoma County and safe, socially-distanced curbside pickup for pre-orders at the winery near Healdsburg every weekend.

Papapietro Perry Winery is a boutique, family-owned winery located in Sonoma County’s Dry Creek Valley, which has specialized in making remarkable, classic Russian River Valley Pinot Noir, as well as a small selection of other varietals from Sonoma such as Zinfandel, Chardonnay and Rosé. Committed to quality for more than twenty years, Ben and Yolanda Papapietro and Bruce and Renae Perry, who began making wine as a hobby in a San Francisco basement in 1980, have consistently produced small lots of award-winning and critically-acclaimed wines, handmade from harvest to punch down.

The Redwood Empire Food Bank (REFB) is the largest hunger-relief organization serving north coastal California, from Sonoma County to the Oregon border. Since 1987, the REFB has provided food and nourishment to those facing hunger, serving 82,000 children, families and seniors in Sonoma County annually. Numbers of people in need have naturally risen due to the COVID-19 outbreak. REFB has therefore added periodic, temporary drive-through food distribution outposts in Healdsburg, Santa Rosa and Petaluma.

Papapietro Perry Winery’s online wine tastings are available live on Facebook and YouTube two-times per week, or by appointment. For the full schedule of virtual events click here.
