Popular Napa-based brand recognized with industry honor for fourth consecutive year

Napa, CA (March 9, 2020) – Butter Chardonnay by JaM Cellars has been named a 2019 Impact “Hot Brand” award winner for the fourth year in a row, and will receive this honor at the 77th Annual Wine & Spirits Wholesalers Convention on April 21st in Las Vegas, NV. Based in Napa Valley, JaM Cellars is the producer of Butter Chardonnay, one of the fastest-growing chardonnays in the country, as well as California Candy Dry Rosé, JaM Cabernet Sauvignon, and Toast Sparkling wines.

To be considered for an Impact “Hot Brand” Award, wineries must show a minimum depletion of 250,000 cases annually, and reflect at least a 10 percent volume growth in the past three calendar years or 15 percent growth in 2019 over 2018. The first release of Butter Chardonnay in 2010 was 1,000 cases and the brand showed triple-digit growth in each of its first seven years. Today, Butter is the number two ranked chardonnay nationally over $12 and ranked number four across all chardonnays.

“We are honored to have Butter Chardonnay recognized as an Impact ‘Hot Brand’ for the fourth consecutive year,” said JaM Cellars Founder and CEO, John Anthony Truchard. “On Butter Chardonnay’s 10th anniversary, it’s humbling to see how much the brand has grown, what our nimble team has been able to accomplish, and how JaM Cellars has continued to be a part of so many people’s every day celebrations. We’re extremely grateful to our customers, retailers, and wholesale partners for supporting Butter Chardonnay and the entire JaM Cellars portfolio that now includes JaM Cabernet Sauvignon, California Candy Dry Rosé, and Toast Sparkling.”

“It’s an honor to accept the Impact ‘Hot Brand’ Award for the fourth year running,” said JaM Cellars EVP of Sales, Geoff Whitman. “I’m so proud of our talented sales team and hardworking distribution partnerships we’ve built, continually impressed with the high-quality product we produce, and grateful for John Truchard’s ambitious vision and trust that has allowed us to take Butter Chardonnay to this incredible level over the past decade.”

Second-generation Napa Valley vintners John and Michele Truchard are the “J” and “M” in JaM Cellars.
