National Wine Retailer Group Elects New Leadership

David Parker of Benchmark Wine Group to Lead National Association of Wine Retailers

(Sacramento, CALIF)—The Board of Directors of the National Association of Wine Retailers (NAWR) has elected David Parker, owner and CEO of Benchmark Wine Group, as its president for the two-year term beginning January 2020. Parker takes the reins from Daniel Posner, longtime NAWR President. Devin Warner, President of Chicago Wine Company, was elected Vice President. John Hinman, founding partner of Hinman & Carmichael will serve as Secretary and Jeff Zacharia, President of Zachy’s Fine Wines will serve as Treasurer for the two-year term.

“I’m very proud to help lead NAWR, which includes the best independent fine wine retailers in America —all of whom are committed to helping bring fair trade and a level playing field to the wine retail channel in the United States,” said Parker. “Personally, my goals for this term are to continue to increase NAWR membership and support our efforts to work with legislators and members of the wine trade to assure a non-discriminatory set of state wine shipping laws benefiting both consumers and retailers.”

The other members of the NAWR Board of Directors include James Delaney—Founder, 24Seven Enterprises, Stacie Hunt—Owner of Splashpros, Daniel Posner—Owner of Grapes The Wine Company, Jamie Ritchie—Chairman, Sotheby’s Wine, and Jamie Wolff—Owner, Chambers Street Wine.
