Lodi, Calif. – October 3, 2019 – Oak Ridge Winery today announced Michael Onslager as the company’s new Vice President of National Sales and a promotion of Noel Basso to Director of Winemaking as the winery positions itself for future expansion and growth.

Michael Onslager, Oak Ridge Winery Vice President of National Sales

Michael comes to Oak Ridge continuing an extensive and successful career in both the wholesale and supplier tiers. He has spent the last twenty-one years in Vice President roles directing sales most recently for Napa Valley’s Rutherford Wine Company along with Australia’s Accolade Wines, C. Mondavi & Sons and F.P. Winner Distributing in Maryland. He started his supplier career with Joseph E. Seagram & Sons in management roles with both Seagram Classics and Chateau & Estates and credits that organization and its leaders for igniting his interest in wine. His passion is building sales teams and brands and developing future leaders.

“The Maggio family is extremely excited to have Michael aboard. He brings over 30 years of industry knowledge that will be essential in furthering the success of Oak Ridge” said Raquel Maggio-Casity, Chief Financial Officer & Co-Owner at Oak Ridge Winery.

Noel Basso, Oak Ridge Winery Director of Winemaking

Winemaker, Noel Basso, was also promoted to Director of Winemaking where he will oversee all winemaking and bottling procedures at the winery. Basso believes that winemaking is an ongoing balancing act and strives to create wines that will honor the Maggio family’s farming roots and are the ultimate expression of the Lodi Appellation.

Noel’s passion for wine began at CSU Fresno where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Food Science and Nutrition with an emphasis on Wine Production. Most recently from The Wine Group, Noel was excited to have a more hand on approach at a family owned operation.

“Noel’s knowledge from the vineyard to the cellar has helped set new benchmarks for quality at Oak Ridge” said Bryan Casity, Production Manager at Oak Ridge Winery.

  1. We have been club members for ten plus years and have enjoyed the wines. Since we moved out of California and have a senior dog which we can’t leave for a long length of time we usually get notice that we have a pick up which in the past we would add the difference of wine to make a case and have it shipped to us. This last time we wanted to add nine more bottles of wine and have it shipped to us. We were told by Caroline that we would have to pay two shipping cost one for the three bottles and one for the remaining nine bottles because we missed some deadline we had no idea existed. This has made no sense to us so we told her if she needed to do that ship the three bottles and take us out of the club. She today told us we needed to come pick up our club order this weekend we told her that was impossible because the roads are closed due to snow. She said she would contact us in a couple of weeks for us to pick up. As far as I am concerned she needs to ship us our three bottles of wine and take us out of the club. This really saddens us because we enjoy your wines but this shipping nonsense makes no sense to us. I can’t help but wonder how many many other dedicated club members this has happen to.

    Respectfully,

    Ross & Laureen Bausone
