SLO Coast Wine to Host Winemaker Dinner, Beachfront Grand Tasting, Live Auction and Winery Open Houses

AVILA BEACH, CA—With its vineyards located just five miles from the ocean on average, it’s fitting that the San Luis Obispo (SLO) Coast Wine Collective holds its signature harvest season event right next to the Pacific.

Indeed, SLO Coast Wine’s “Harvest on The Coast” weekend offers an open-air Grand Tasting on Saturday, November 2 from noon to 2:30 p.m. that will feature samplings from more than 60 local wineries and chefs at Avila Beach Resort. The festivities will include live music by Ricky Montijo.

The Grand Tasting will then be punctuated by a Live Auction from 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. This winemaker-led auction showcases rare wines, themed destination getaways, culinary treats and more. The Live Auction will also feature the “Archie McLaren Fund-A-Need” lot, with all proceeds benefiting a worthy local cause, which will be announced shortly.

Meanwhile, those interested in kicking off the weekend the night before are invited to the Crafted on the Coast collaborative winemaker dinner happening on Friday, November 1 at Filipponi Ranch Cellars in San Luis Obispo, where guests will enjoy sumptuous courses by Chef Jeffery Scott artfully paired with wines from the SLO Coast Wine region.

The delights continue on Sunday, November 3 with Surf’s Up Sunday, where wineries throughout the region host a day of open house offerings such as hors d’oeuvres, live entertainment and wine discounts. This event is complimentary to all who attend Saturday’s Grand Tasting event.
