Peju 2019 Grape Stomp Planned for August 17

25th Annual Event

August 2019, Rutherford, Napa Valley – Peju Winery has organized its 25th annual Grape Stomp on Saturday, August 17. The event begins at 10:30 a.m. and concludes at 1:30 a.m. The winery is located at 8466 St. Helena Highway in Rutherford. Tickets are $150.00 for winery club members and $175.00 for the public and must be purchased in advance. The event includes grape stomping, a team competition and a chef-prepared, farm to table lunch created with produce from the winery’s garden.

“Kick off your shoes and experience the thrill of stomping grapes with your bare feet,” explains Ann Marie Howle, Experience Team Manager. Guests will compete in pairs to stomp the most grape juice and the top stomp team wins prizes for its members. If guests come dressed in custom team shirts or costumes, they can compete for “best team theme” and “best team shirt.” Each member of the winning team receives a commemorative Peju Grape Stomp prize.

PEJU PROVINCE WINERY

Peju Province Winery was recently named “Best Winery in North America” by The Discoverer.  Founded in 1983 in Rutherford by Tony and Herta Peju, Peju Province Winery owns over 500 acres of estate vineyards in Rutherford, Oak Knoll, Carneros, Calistoga and Pope Valley which are organically and sustainably farmed. Family owned and operated, the business has transformed over the past 37 years from a simple grape growing venture into a landmark winery. Winemaker Sara Fowler directs the production of Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Syrah, Petit Verdot, a dessert Zinfandel, a Dry Rosé and proprietary wines including Province, The Experiment, Sketches, Piccolo red blend and Fifty/Fifty red blend.

CALMÉRE ESTATE WINERY

In 2019 Lisa and Ariana Peju established Calmére Estate Winery and tasting room in the Carneros region of Napa Valley. The winery is located at 2750 Las Amigas Road (Napa 94559), approximately a 45-minute drive from the Golden Gate Bridge. The estate vineyard consists of 38 acres planted with 9 different Pinot Noir clonal varietals.
