Restaurants, retailers & wineries to offer special promotions and events to celebrate Washington wine throughout the month of August
SEATTLE (August 1, 2019) – Washington State Wine is encouraging wine lovers to get out and explore this August for Washington State Wine Month. With more than 970 wineries – from the western edge of the Puget Sound to the furthest southeast corner of the state – there is ample opportunity to discover why Washington is the New Epicenter of Wine.
“Washington State has a winery experience for everyone,” said Steve Warner, President of Washington State Wine. “From patio tasting experiences to outdoor events and concerts – summer is the perfect time to get out and support our local winemakers and farmers.”
Washington wineries, restaurants, hotels and retailers are encouraged to celebrate August wine month by running specials and promotions to collectively raise excitement and elevate the industry as a whole. The Washington State Wine Month website features a calendar of promotions and events, including winemaker dinners, discounts at local wineries and restaurants, special tasting opportunities and more.
“The governor originally proclaimed Washington State Wine Month over 20 years ago, and today it remains a way for us to support our local restaurants and retailers by giving consumers another reason to shop, eat and drink local,” Warner said. “It’s a win-win-situation for everybody.”
Washington State Wine will run a large advertising campaign to generate approximately nine million impressions this August, and social media will activate in a huge way. Follow #WAwine and #WAWineMonth to keep up with the social buzz all month long.
“Collectively, we are on a mission to show the world why Washington is the New Epicenter of Wine,” Warner said. “No matter where you are in the state, we encourage you to sip local and discover why Washington is a world-class wine region.”
