2019 Harvest STOMP is August 24th

The event features an auction, live music and more than 100 Napa Valley wines – plus an online auction for the first time ever

WHAT: The Napa Valley Grapegrowers and the Napa Valley Farmworker Foundation are pleased to announce that reservations are now available for the 12th annual “Harvest STOMP,” which celebrates the beginning of harvest and raises funds for education, vineyard preservation, enhanced farming practices, and professional development for farmworkers and their families. The 2019 Harvest STOMP takes place on Saturday, August 24, at Pine Ridge’s Rutherford Ridge Vineyard.

The festive event supports the Napa Valley Grapegrowers’ efforts to protect Napa Valley’s Agricultural Preserve. The Napa Valley Grapegrowers provide continuing education to grape growers and vineyard workers on environmental stewardship, best practices and sustainable farming. The Napa Valley Farmworker Foundation supports and promotes Napa Valley’s vineyard workers through education and professional development. The first organization of its kind in the United States, the Napa Valley Farmworker Foundation has provided educational opportunities to more than 18,272 farmworkers and their families.

2019 Harvest STOMP is chaired by fifth generation Napa Valley grape growers Dan Hoskins and Lisa Callan Hoskins whose family owns Ferrogiaro Vineyard and has been in Napa Valley since 1863.

“Spectacular Napa wines begin in the vineyard,” said Lisa Callan Hoskins. “The vineyards are the heart and soul of our wines, so funding farmworker and grower education is critical.”

2019 Harvest STOMP will be held at Pine Ridge’s Rutherford Ridge Vineyard and will feature live music, a lively auction, delicious local food, and more than 100 Napa Valley wines. An annual tradition, one ton of exceptional fruit that never goes on the open market, will be available in the live auction – and for the first time ever, an online auction has been added so that supporters who aren’t able to attend the event can still participate. The online auction opens at Noon on August 9th and concludes at Noon on August 18th and features a rare large format vertical of Scarecrow from 2012 – 2016.

“One hundred per cent of the money raised during Harvest STOMP supports the Napa Valley Grapegrowers and the Napa Valley Farmworker Foundation’s efforts to continually educate growers and farm workers on sustainability, best practices, and professional development,” added Dan Hoskins. “As growers, we are stewards of this precious land and Napa Valley wines begin in the vineyard.”
