Wine Women’s Wine Club Forum Hosts “Simplifying and Supercharging Telephone Efforts”

WINE WOMEN’s Wine Club Forum welcomes guest speaker Marcela Pinzon, Founder/ CEO of Vitis Vinifera Telesales, on July 24th at 6 p.m. at Nakedwines.com in Napa. Ms. Pinzon will share her hands-on knowledge on preparing and executing successful DTC calling programs. Her ideas and strategies remove the pain and fear of wine telesales. “Simplifying and Supercharging Telephone Efforts” is open to WINE WOMEN members and wine industry professionals.

Marcela Pinzon, Founder/ CEO has 18 years of wine sales expertise. She is a Level 1 Sommelier with the Court of Master Sommeliers since 2005. Marcela proudly serves on the Sonoma Vintners Sponsorship Committee and the Legislative Committee for Family Wine Makers of California.

Throughout her career, she has represented established luxury brands at The Henry Wine Group, building boutique family wineries at Angeles Wine Agency, and working with the top wholesale distributors in key management roles. At Southern Wine & Spirits, she was Director of Hotels, while at Young’s Market Company, she was Imports Manager, and at Paul Hobbs, the Western Region Sales Manager.

Vitis Vinefera Telesales is a full service telesales firm, helping family wineries manage all aspects of an outbound calling sales campaign. Their strategy revolves around the concept of bonding with clients’ wine club members. They identify the core process of a winery’s approach to DTC telesales, and implement a strategic approach to achieve improved results.

Managing an outbound calling campaign requires a tremendous investment of time, resources, staff and technology. Data shows the more time something takes, the fewer people will use that functionality. Calling wine club members can yield profits of up to 30-40% of sales revenue. Telesales represents 7% of the DTC sales channel mix, it’s an untapped sales opportunity for wineries of any size.

Nakedwines.com is a sponsor of WINE WOMEN and host of their Wine Club Forum meetings. It is a community of independent winemakers and supportive wine drinkers, who invest in hundreds of wine projects a year. Nakedwines.com puts their customers at the heart of their business – often asking them what kind of wine projects to fund next.

They don’t just sell wines, they make them happen. Since launching in the UK in 2008, Nakedwines.com and their Angels have invested in over 159 independent winemakers in 14 countries.

Turns out it’s better business for everyone… Their winemakers get to sell all of their wines, and make a living. They make the same margins as everyone else, and have a lot of fun along the way. And the wine drinker, for the $40 a month they probably would have spent on wine anyway, gets wholesale prices on exclusive wines made just for them.

Theresa Dorr, “Queen of Clubs” and forum chair is a leader in revolutionizing direct to consumer sales in the wine, hospitality and specialty food industries. She led the shift in wine clubs from being a source of pain with limited gain to high-growth recurring revenue opportunities.

She generated triple digit growth for ACS and led the company to be a recognized leader in the wine industry. With her expertise in club programs she is recognized as the “Queen of Clubs,” and published writer.

She continues to work with wineries and wine stores developing business plans, marketing programs and direct to consumer sales. She also continues her work to bring new applications to the wine industry.

The WINE WOMEN Wine Club Forum strives to foster professional growth while providing the opportunity to share expertise within the group and disseminate best practices knowledge. Wine club programs can be a powerful revenue source for wineries.
