June 18, 2019, South San Francisco, California – San Francisco Wine School is thrilled to announce best-selling author, Clark Smith will be hosting a special “somm-inar” on Sunday, July 14th.
Smith, best known for his book Postmodern Winemaking, has been named one of 48 Most Influential People in the Wine Industry. Smith calls into question conventional wisdom and explores traditions outside of mainstream wine production techniques. His WineSmith wines are forgeries and oddities that often succeed at the seemingly impossible, using traditional varieties and sometimes eclectic experiments with novel varieties and styles to illustrate many challenges to sommelier expectations. Smith has been teaching wine since 1984, and his insights and knowledge has been a guiding force in wine production to growers for decades.
The afternoon begins at 2:00 PM with a seminar and guided tasting by Smith. Each attendee will receive a copy of Postmodern Winemaking, which Clark will be available to sign after the seminar. Wine seminar wines will also be available for purchase after the event. Seating is limited with tickets on sale to the general public for $125 and to verified trade for $75. If you are not on San Francisco Wine School’s Verified Trade List, please email us a copy of your business card to to qualify to attend and receive other special invitations and pricing on future events.
