Research Oenovation Collective-SLO to Hold First San Luis Obispo County Regional Meeting

The non-profit ROC to host meetings for wine technical professionals in the SLO-Paso Robles region

Rescue, CA, June 18, 2019 The non-profit Research Oenovation Collective, the ROC, will hold a regional meeting for wine industry professionals from the San Luis Obispo-Paso Robles region on Thursday June 27 from 4 to 6 pm at the Chamisal Vineyards wine production facility on Orcutt Road in Edna Valley. Like all regional chapters of the Research Oenovation Collective, ROC-SLO will meet five times yearly outside of harvest months.

The initial ROC-SLO meeting will kick-off at 4PM with a social half-hour featuring a tasting of featured wines. The social time will be followed with a presentation by Chamisal Vineyards Winemaker Fintan du Fresne illustrating how his use of flotation technology has helped him to manage production and wine style in the Chamisal Vineyards Chardonnay program.  The program will also feature a presentation by ROC CEO Peter Salamone introducing ROC-SLO as an organization and describing the ROC trials which will be supported throughout 2019. The ROC is led by CEO Peter Salamone, driven by the ROC wine industry members, guided by an outstanding technical advisory committee and supported by industry sponsors and the ROC board of directors.  The ROC is an applied research platform that addresses current issues of importance to the wine industry through collaboration between winemakers and industry technical experts.  Shared resources and results provide industry-wide benefits which are realized through the ROC communications network.

Providing opportunities such as the ROC regional meetings for wine professionals to meet in an informal atmosphere and discuss issues of importance to themselves and the industry at large is invaluable for the development of any technical industry, professional relationship or career path.

Communication is a key component of all ROC functions. From providing opportunities for industry partners to clearly understand each other to facilitating seminars introducing the latest innovations for the industry on through dissemination of applied research results, the ROC strives for transparency in all activities.”

Membership in the ROC is open to any individual, corporation or other business entity engaged in operation and/or manufacture of; wine, winemaking products, processing technology, research or technical development. While not required for attending this meeting, participants are encouraged to pre-register as ROC members on-line at www.rocwine.org/join-us/, register on-site or simply come and check out the festivities.  In addition, ROC sponsorship opportunities are available.

The Research Oenovation Collective, the ROC, is a non-profit mutual benefit corporation registered with the State of California which administers an applied research platform for the wine industry and operates throughout winegrowing regions across North America.
