Petaluma, California, June 10, 2019 – Scott Laboratories, a leader in fermentation, filtration, packaging and equipment offerings to the wine industry, is excited to announce the first ever FERMENT event to be held at The CIA at Copia in Napa on June 27, 2019. Focused solely on fermentation, FERMENT will bring together some of the industry’s most passionate and creative winemakers to enjoy tasting and networking with the leading researchers and producers in wine, cider, coffee, and other fermented beverages industries. The inaugural theme is Creativity in Fermentation, allowing guests to explore the lifeblood of our industry through this lens.
Highlights of the day include a tasting and keynote speech from Vinnie Cilurzo, owner and brewer of the acclaimed Russian River Brewing Company. Growing up in a winemaking family, Vinnie has been passionate about pushing the envelope in fermentation from a young age. This amazing passion and spirit of experimentation is evident in his breadth of beers and his success. Guests will have the opportunity to taste cutting-edge trial wines from Scott’s R&D pipeline, as well as participate in hands-on breakout sessions focused on bread baking and coffee, allowing guests to explore the impact of fermentation on the sensory profile of other products. The day’s speakers will come together in the afternoon for a lively panel discussion, moderated by local winemaker and personality, Jim Duane. Jim is the winemaker at Seavey Vineyard in Napa, and also the creator and host of the educational podcast, Inside Winemaking. The day will conclude with a cocktail reception in the stunning outdoor amphitheatre at Copia.
