Full Day of Discussion Focused on Wholesale Channel

Healdsburg, CA, May 23, 2019 – Wine Industry Network (WIN) hosted a successful 3-Tier Wine Symposium, the first one-day educational conference focused exclusively on the wholesale channel Wednesday, May 22nd at the Vintner’s Inn in Santa Rosa, CA. Over 200 industry professionals gathered for this inaugural event to learn how to be more effective through smarter and more creative ways to build their business through wholesale.

The day kicked off with opening remarks from WIN President George Christie and Symposium Moderator, Laura Webb, Partner in Okos Partners, and continued throughout the afternoon with presentations from channel experts and discussions about every facet of the 3-tier system. Speakers shared their thoughts on current opportunities that the wholesale channel still presents, how to nurture distributor relationships and advice on the tools and techniques needed to grow brands and increase profitability.

“What’s interesting about today’s conference is that the conversation about the wholesale channel is happening all of the time, because of that, we decided it was important to formalize the discussion and include as many different perspectives as possible,” said George Christie, President of Wine Industry Network.

Eighteen speakers including distributors, business consultants, regulatory, and sales and marketing experts shared their knowledge with a room full of engaged attendees and answered audience questions crowd-sourced in an interactive real-time format.

“The evolution of the wholesale channel is continuing to evolve with new players and new types of technology, data tracking and analysis emerging,” adds Christie. “For wineries who are interested in growing their brand presence, the need to approach their distributor relationship as a partnership is key to creating win/win opportunities for both parties.”

Providing additional opportunities for collaboration and interaction, the day included a beautiful wine country buffet lunch and culminated with an afternoon networking social and wine tasting.
