Napa, CA, April 30, 2019 — The CIA at Copia,The Culinary Institute of America’s epicurean destination in downtown Napa, announces that K. LAZ at CIA Copia is now open daily for walk-in tastings. Led by proprietor Kerrin Laz, former wine director of Dean & DeLuca, K. LAZ at CIA Copia previously only offered by appointment wine tastings from her portfolio of California’s most compelling, cult-status wines and inaccessible gems.
During her 12 years of tasting, sourcing, and bringing to market the best wines for Dean & DeLuca, Ms. Laz established personal and long-standing relationships with nearly every California winemaker worth knowing. By garnering her reputation as the leading authority on wines in the Napa Valley region, Kerrin has developed a loyal following of discerning wine aficionados. Earlier this year, she was profiled in a Food & Wine feature article.
“Kerrin has been such an integral part of The CIA at Copia experience since opening the doors of her tasting room last June for private tastings. We’re thrilled to take this next step with her and introduce people on a daily basis to K. LAZ at CIA Copia,” says Thomas Bensel, managing director of CIA California. “We encourage guests to stop by for a quick tasting or linger with a glass while they take in all we have to offer, such as the France is a Feast photography exhibit, Chuck Williams Culinary Arts Museum, or our new al fresco dining spot, Grove.”
Wine enthusiasts can join Ms. Laz and her team during open house hours to sample some of her newest wine discoveries and freely taste rare labels without the cost of purchasing full bottles. Surprise visits from popular vintners across California also occur regularly, with recent appearances at her tasting room in Yountville by Arista Winery, Accendo Cellars, BOND, Dalla Valle Vineyards, Ferren, Harlan Estate, Hourglass Winery, Revana Family Vineyards, Realm Cellars, Rivers-Marie, Rudd Winery, and Shafer Vineyards. For a more customized experience, K. LAZ still offers, customized, sit-down private tastings by appointment for groups where guests will gain an insider’s perspective on the wines being poured and the wine industry as a whole. Food pairings are available upon request.
K. LAZ at CIA Copia is open every day of the week from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., wines are priced per taste and personally selected by Ms. Laz. For more information, or to book an appointment, please visit wwwciaatcopia.com/k-laz. For a list of upcoming featured wines, email wine@klazwinecollection.com.
