SIP Certified Announces Free New Tools to Promote Sustainability

Non-Members Now Have Access To Sustainability Self-Assessment Tools and SIP Smart Seminar

Atascadero, California, April 23, 2019 – SIP Certified (Sustainability in Practice), one of the wine industry’s oldest and most important third-party sustainability assessment programs, has just released information on three new important tools to help members and non-members promote sustainability. They include updated self-assessment tools and a SIP Smart Seminar.

Self-Assessment Tools

Vineyards and wineries can now log onto the organization’s website at https://app.sipcertified.org/ to evaluate their sustainable farming and wine production practices including habitat conservation, water conservation, air quality, recycling, waste reduction, social equity, continuing education, business management and more. An online tutorial explaining the process is available at https://youtu.be/PulKJZPosjA. There is no obligation to join.

According to SIP Certified’s Manager, Beth Vukmanic Lopez, “This a great opportunity for vineyards and wineries anywhere in any country to test drive the SIP Certified program before officially committing to it.”

SIP Smart Seminar

SIP Certified is sponsoring the SIP Smart Seminar on May 14, 2019 at Niner Wine Estates in Paso Robles, CA. The event will bring together sustainability experts to share new information on a variety of topics including:

  • What is SIP Certified?
  • Sustainable, Organic and Biodynamic Farming
  • Winegrowing Fact or Fiction
  • Predators, Prey, & Pests – Zoo to You
  • The Front Lines of Education: Vineyard Walk & Tasting
  • Strength in Sustainability: New Branding Plan for SIP Certified

The event is recommended for anyone who works in the vineyard, winery, tasting room, marketing, or sales divisions. The SIP Smart Seminar is free for SIP Certified members and non-certified attendees. It utilizes a block-to-bottle, integrated approach to management, enabling farmers, wineries and winemakers to preserve the environment and protect human resources.
