Napa Valley’s Frank Family Vineyards Offers New Reserve Tasting “The Wines of Winston Hill,” an Experience in Terroir from an Iconic Rutherford Hillside Vineyard

(April 16, 2019; Calistoga, California)—Frank Family Vineyards is pleased to introduce a new reserve experience at its award-winning tasting room located at 1091 Larkmead Lane in Napa Valley’s Calistoga, CA. “The Wines of Winston Hill,” delves into the history of Frank Family Vineyards through the wines produced from this storied Rutherford hillside site, which was purchased by Rich Frank in 1991. “As soon as I bought the property, my phone started ringing off the hook with requests to buy fruit. I knew we had something special from the beginning,” says Rich.

The experience is offered in Frank Family’s newly redesigned tasting room and features the following limited-production wines:  Reserve Sangiovese ($70), Rutherford Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon ($95), Winston Hill ($150), Patriarch ($225) and Owner’s Blend from magnum ($400). Offered Wednesday through Sunday at 1:30pm and 3:30pm, the tasting is $60 per person and $20 per person for wine club members.

Winston Hill is located on Rich and Leslie Frank’s 107-acre estate, on the east side of the Napa Valley along the Vaca Mountain range in the heart of the Rutherford appellation. It is home to approximately 35 acres of planted vines with Cabernet Sauvignon being its primary variety, along with small amounts of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Sangiovese. Due to its southwest exposure, Winston Hill receives some of the longest hours of sunshine in the valley. Typical warm summer days give way to cool nights with soft mountain breezes. Extensive hand labor balances the vine canopy and maintains yields to produce rich and concentrated wines. The vineyard is sustainably farmed and is certified Napa Green.

“The Wines of Winston Hill tasting was conceived with the Napa Cabernet lover and collector in mind. It will be our most story-centric experience, showcasing the incredibly varied and exquisite wines of our prized vineyard site with average vine-age of 30 years,” says Director of DTC Sales and Hospitality Liam Gearity.

Due to the intimate nature of this experience, reservations are required to guarantee a seating. Reservations can be made by contacting the tasting room at 707-942-0859 or tastingroom@frankfamilyvineyards.com.
