“With hundreds of wineries coming to market every year, 500 in 2018 alone, each vying for a place at consumers’ dinner tables, a thorough understanding of this changing landscape and business know-how is paramount,” Ray Johnson, executive director of the Wine Business Institute in the School of Business and Economics at Sonoma State University said. “While passion for the industry remains an essential component for wine entrepreneurs, those achieving success are leveraging comprehensive study and practice of proven business management strategies to make their visions a reality.”
Financial frameworks, regulations, profitability models, and branding are among the various tools and frameworks participants learn and apply while in the Wine Entrepreneurship program, with focused mentorship from Dr. Anisya Fritz. Students have the opportunity to connect with industry leaders and veterans who share their experiences and lessons learned.
“I was given the tools to align my business plan with my mission and vision, and grow a network of wine industry professionals.
