Dry Creek Valley Reimagines the Modern Wine + Food Festival with 35th Anniversary Passport Weekend and Two-Month Tasting Experience

“Twice as Nice: The Extended Edition” reflects a bold shift toward accessibility, creativity, and the evolving wine consumer.

April 26, 2026 (Healdsburg, CA) — As the wine industry faces a rapidly changing landscape, the Winegrowers of Dry Creek Valley is redefining what a wine festival can be. Celebrating the 35th anniversary of Passport to Dry Creek Valley (April 24–26, 2026), the organization is introducing a more expansive, inclusive, and creatively driven approach – one that extends far beyond a single weekend.

At the heart of this evolution is “Twice as Nice: The Extended Edition,” a two-month tasting experience running April 6 through June 1. Inspired by the Passport community, the initiative invites guests to explore the valley at their own pace with 2-for-1 tastings before and after the event – transforming a beloved weekend into a full season of discovery. Applies to traditional tastings only.

Participating wineries are Breathless, Smith Story, Raymond Burr, Martorana, Dutcher Crossing, Dot, 32 Winds/Mascarin, Seghesio, Papapietro Perry, CAST, Kokomo, Dry Creek Vineyard (April 6–24 only), Portalupi, Pedroncelli, Terra Amata, West Wines, Hawley, and Saini.“We’re looking beyond the traditional wine festival model,” said Lauren Fremont, Executive Director for Winegrowers of Dry Creek Valley. “This is about staying relevant in a competitive event landscape – creating something more flexible, more welcoming, and ultimately more meaningful for today’s wine lover and the wine-curious alike.”

WHERE WINE, ART, AND COMMUNITY MEET – KANYE TOMIWA

This year, Passport introduces a new creative dimension with resident artist Kanye Tomiwa, whose presence brings a living, creative layer to the weekend experience.

His work will unfold in real time, inviting attendees to contribute corks for a future piece that will be transformed into a collaborative art installation – one that will travel throughout the valley, encouraging future visitors to explore tasting rooms in search of the piece. Another way to deepen the connection to the landscape, the makers, and the spirit of the community. This intersection of wine and art reflects a broader vision: to create moments of discovery that feel organic, immersive, and distinctly Dry Creek Valley.

INNOVATION MEETS INCLUSIVITY

Recognizing the importance of welcoming a new generation of wine drinkers – and non-drinkers alike – Passport 2026 introduces several firsts:

  • Non-Alcoholic Partnerships:
Saturday and Sunday will feature De Soi, co-founded by Katy Perry, alongside Friday’s Twilight Welcome Party partner DuJu – a locally owned brand bringing a fresh perspective to the celebration.
  • Dedicated Non-Drinker Experience:
For the first time, non-drinker guests will receive thoughtfully designed glassware – ensuring they feel equally included in every moment of the weekend.
  • Wellness Integration:
A new wellness partner underscores a balanced approach to wine country hospitality, emphasizing hydration, travel recovery, and overall well-being.
  • AI-Driven Wine Discovery:
Through a partnership with SOMM Digi, Passport introduces an AI-powered sommelier experience within its event materials – making wine education more accessible, interactive, and unintimidating for Gen Z and beyond.

A REGION ROOTED IN LEGACY AND LOOKING AHEAD

Set along a scenic 16-mile stretch in Sonoma County, Dry Creek Valley is home to a tight-knit community of family-owned wineries, many spanning multiple generations. Known for its heritage Zinfandel, the region continues to evolve while staying true to its roots.

Passport’s 35th anniversary reflects that same balance – honoring tradition while embracing change.

“This isn’t just an extension of an event – it’s an evolution of how people experience wine country,” Amanda Brower, Director of Communications, added. “It’s about creating space for discovery, for connection, and for new audiences to feel like they belong here.”
