January 27, 2026 (Newberg, OR) — Nicolas-Jay, an Oregon winery from Jean-Nicolas Méo of Burgundy’s Méo-Camuzet and visionary music entrepreneur Jay Boberg, is proud to announce the promotion of Noah Roberts to Production Winemaker, taking the lead in year-round wine production at the Willamette Valley estate.

Nicolas-Jay has established itself as one of the Willamette Valley’s top producers of ultra-premium Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Over the last decade, wines from Nicolas-Jay have earned praise from some of the world’s most respected publications, appearing on Wine Spectator’s “Top 100” wines list, and garnering prestigious scores from Decanter, Jeb Dunnuck, and James Suckling. A globally-minded winery, Nicolas-Jay wines are poured in some of the finest restaurants in the world, from Paris to Tokyo, London, Hong Kong, Copenhagen, and Seoul.
“We are unique in our winemaking practices, and take a holistic approach to every vineyard, every block,” shares winemaker and co-founder Jean-Nicolas Méo. “To be a part of this team, you must acquire and develop an understanding for the land, the grapes, and the wine. Noah has this understanding. I am very proud of what Noah contributes.”
Roberts joined the team at Nicolas-Jay as Assistant Winemaker in 2020. He brought 12 years of experience to the position, with previous experience working in cellars in Oregon, Australia, and New Zealand. Since joining Nicolas-Jay, he has been the leader of the day to day wine work in the cellar and the vineyard, bringing his intimate knowledge of each cuvée to the table as Winemaker Jean-Nicolas Méo and he craft these award winning wines.
“Noah provides knowledge, energy and passion to the winemaking team here at Nicolas-Jay”, said co-founder Jay Boberg. “Noah’s attention to detail and commitment to making some of the best wine in Oregon is exactly what Jean-Nicolas and I need. We are lucky to have such a gifted winemaking talent”.
Roberts is thrilled to take on a more active role in the winery. “I have found my home here at Nicolas-Jay,” he said. “All of my years of experience have led me to this winery, and the refined and elegant work we do here. We are evolving with each vintage into what I think is the best possible expression of Willamette Valley wines.”

ABOUT NICOLAS-JAY
Nicolas-Jay is a winery born from the longtime friendship of Jean-Nicolas Méo of the famed Domaine Méo-Camuzet, and visionary music entrepreneur Jay Boberg. Nicolas-Jay’s regional cuvées are a thoughtful collection of premium sustainably farmed vineyards, and the winery has four single vineyard designate bottlings: Bishop Creek, Nysa, Temperance Hill, and Momtazi. Chardonnay was added to Nicolas-Jay’s offerings in 2017, both an estate bottling and a regional cuvée, Affinités. With the 2021 vintage, a new single vineyard designate from Spirit Hill Vineyard joined the collection of fine Willamette Valley Chardonnay from the winery. In 2019, Méo and Boberg purchased a 53-acre site in the Dundee Hills AVA, a location with some of the deepest Jory soils in the region, and began converting the existing barn to a winery and tasting room. Nicolas-Jay planted its first vines on the estate vineyard and launched the new tasting room in 2021. Nicolas-Jay wines are distributed nationally and available in overseas markets like Hong Kong and the United Kingdom. For more information, please visit nicolas-jay.com.
