2024 Golden Vines® Award Winners Announced at Glittering Ceremony Held at Palacio Cibeles in Madrid

October 28, 2024; Madrid – Saturday night saw this year’s star performers of fine wine and spirits industry presented with The 2024 Golden Vines® Awards  organised by Liquid Icons at the Golden Vines® Awards Gala ceremony held at Palacio Cibeles in Madrid.

The winners of  the night were as follows:

  • 2024 ROBB REPORT GOLDEN VINES® WORLD’S BEST FINE WINE PRODUCER: Vega Sicilia,  Spain
  •  2024 OPUL JETS GOLDEN VINES® WORLD’S BEST RISING STAR AWARD: The Sadie Family Wines, South Africa
  • 2024 GOLDEN VINES® BEST FINE WINE PRODUCER IN EUROPE AWARD: Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, France
  • 2024 GOLDEN VINES® BEST FINE WINE PRODUCER IN THE AMERICAS AWARD: Harlan Estate, California
  • 2024 67 PALL MALL GOLDEN VINES® BEST FINE WINE PRODUCER IN THE REST OF THE WORLD AWARD: Henschke, Australia
  • 2024 BARCA VELHA GOLDEN VINES® INNOVATION AWARD: Familia Torres, Spain
  • 2024 GOLDEN VINES® WORLD’S BEST RARE SPIRIT BRAND AWARD: The Macallan, Scotland
  • 2024 GUCCI GOLDEN VINES® SUSTAINABILITY AWARD: Felton Road Wines, New Zealand
  • 2024 GOLDEN VINES® HALL OF FAME AWARD: Jasper Morris MW

A record 1,200 top fine wine professionals from more than 100 countries participated in this year’s awards nominations and voting. This impressive group, with an average of over 16 years of industry experience, included 68 Masters of Wine, 29 Master Sommeliers, over 160 Advanced Sommeliers, 301 Diploma holders from the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (DipWSET), and 48 holders of the ASI Diploma. The results were independently verified by Deloitte LLP, in accordance with the voting rules published on Liquid Icons website.

The Gucci Golden Vines® Sustainability Award, which recognises and celebrates wineries that lead the industry in promoting and practicing sustainable business, was determined by a distinguished panel of judges, including Adrian Garforth MW, Chief Operating Officer at 67 Pall Mall; Steve Mattiasson, Owner of Matthiasson Wines; and fine wine consultant Hérve Berland.

Each winner was awarded with a trophy designed by the visionary Spanish multi-disciplinary artist Nuria Mora, created under the guidance of The Trophy Creative Director Shantell Martin. Inspired by the meticulous craftsmanship involved in both art and winemaking, each trophy was presented in a custom trunk made by Gucci, a sponsor of the Golden Vines® awards.

During the award ceremony, guests enjoyed Michelin-starred cuisine curated by the culinary geniuses behind Catalonia’s three Michelin-starred El Celler de Can Roca paired with Dom Pérignon Rose 2009 (en Magnum), Dom Pérignon Plénitude 2 2006, Le Petit Cheval Blanc 2020 (en Magnum), Tenuta dell’Ornellaia 2006 (en Magnum), Marques de Murrieta 1980 (en Magnum), Château d’Yquem 1983 and Gonzalez Byass Palo Cortado (Golden Vines® Barrel Select). Headline entertainment was provided by rising star Victor Ray. 

Established in 2021 to support, honour and celebrate the best of the best in the world of fine wine and rare spirits, the Golden Vines® – often referred to as “the Oscars of fine wine’”– features an exceptional weekend of wine & spirit tastings, masterclasses, Michelin-starred gastronomy, award ceremonies, live auction in partnership with Sotheby’s raising funds for The Gérard Basset Foundation, show-stopping performances from world class talent and money-can’t-buy experiences in the most stunning locations.

Following its successful editions in London (2021), Florence (2022), Paris (2023) and Madrid (2024), the The Golden Vines® Weekend  will continue its legacy of celebrating excellence in the world of fine wine and rare spirits in the vibrant city of Miami from 7-9th November 2025, followed by Singapore in 2026.
