[Pennsylvania] – [June 16, 2023] – Pennsylvania’s winemaking industry has reached a new milestone as Benigna’s Creek Vineyard & Winery proudly announces its groundbreaking achievement at the prestigious Decanter World Wine Awards (DWWA). Benigna’s Creek Traminette has been awarded a coveted Decanter World Wine Awards Medal, marking the first-ever DWWA recognition for a Pennsylvania winery.
The DWWA is a highly respected international wine competition organized by Decanter, the world’s leading wine media brand. Of the 18,250 wines submitted from all over the world, the United States claimed a total of 265 medals. Benigna’s Creek Traminette was awarded bronze.
The DWWA panel of esteemed experts and sommeliers noted Traminette as being “generous on the palate, with a round body and fruity finish.”
Benigna’s Creek Vineyard & Winery was founded in 1999 in Schuylkill County, PA, and has long been an established leader in Pennsylvania’s wine industry. Brothers Rick and Michael Masser bring a lifetime of agriculture and winemaking experience to their craft and, in addition to the DWWA award, have received an 89-point rating from James Suckling for their Traminette wine.
