This year’s recipients are all highly competent, inspirational students who have a passion for agriculture. The scholarships are made possible by the family of Aldo Delfino, the late Ag Commissioner of Napa County, who valued both the opportunity to attend college and the opportunity to return to Napa County and serve the community and local agriculture. The Aldo Delfino Scholarship was established upon the death of Aldo in 1981 for the purpose of awarding scholarships, in his name, to local students planning to attend college and study some form of agriculture. The Napa County Farm Bureau’s Young Farmers and Ranchers helped raise $7,000 towards this year’s scholarships.

The scholarship winners for the high school class of 2022 are: Nathan Materne – Vintage High School; Hana Duhig – Justin-Siena High; Luis Montañez De Loera – Calistoga Junior Senior High School; Marisol Licea – Napa High School; Juliana Bulman – Napa High School; Gustavo Aviña Alfaro – Vintage High School; Andrea Villaseñor – Calistoga Junior Senior High School; Diana Sosa Lopez – St Helena High School. In addition, Diana Sosa Lopez received the 2022 California Association of Pest Control Advisors (CAPCA) scholarship, administered by the Napa County Farm Bureau Foundation. Scholarships are jointly awarded with the Jack L. Davies Ag Preservation Fund.

“We’re extremely proud of this year’s scholarship recipients and their amazing achievements,” said Ryan Klobas, Chief Executive Officer of the Napa County Farm Bureau. “Not only does the Farm Bureau represent the current generation of agricultural professionals in Napa County, but we also ensure the next successful generation of ag professionals and these scholarships are a major way we accomplish that goal. This year’s scholarship recipients represent a very talented pool of students with big aspirations and we’re looking forward to great things from them.”
