Emeritus Vineyards Announces a New Six-Part Series of Educational Webinars for Wine Professionals

Emeritus PersonnelRUSSIAN RIVER VALLEY, Calif. – June 23, 2020 – Building on the success of its recent webinars for wine professionals, Emeritus Vineyards is excited to announce that it is launching a new six-part series of online educational webinars for wholesalers and other wine industry professionals. Hosted by Emeritus’s second-generation President Mari Jones, and featuring renowned Emeritus Winemaker David Lattin and legendary Vineyard Manager Kirk Lokka, the series of webinars will delve into all things Pinot Noir, with topics ranging from the use of oak to winemaking style, terroir and more.

As a winery exclusively dedicated to dry-farmed, estate-grown Pinot Noir, the Emeritus team will provide their unique perspective during these discussions. Each session is educational, interactive and usually offers some fun debate. The series will run monthly, and will include a post-harvest episode in November that will offer an early assessment of the 2020 vintage at Emeritus, and in the Russian River Valley. Future webinars will bring in other voices from around wine country for even more passionate discussions.

“The response to our webinars has been fantastic, and we are having a lot of fun hosting them,” says Emeritus President Mari Jones. “With many of our trade partner unable to come to wine country right now, our webinars have emerged as a great way to share knowledge and tell our unique story in a very enjoyable and engaging way.”

During the webinars, guests will have the opportunity to talk with Jones, Lattin and Lokka directly. Prior to joining Emeritus, Lattin was the winemaker at such noted wineries as Acacia, Kuleto Estate and Merus. Lokka, who has more than four decades of vineyard management experience in Sonoma County, was a two-time president of the Russian River Valley Winegrowers association, and was honored for his work at Emeritus by the Sonoma County Winegrowers as the “2017 Grower of the Year.” The six-part series of educational webinars begins on Wednesday, July 1st, and all webinars will begin at 11 a.m. PST (2 p.m. EST).
