(Napa, CA)—John Caldwell, owner of Caldwell Vineyard, will present this year’s Napa Valley Film Festival Caldwell Vineyard Maverick Actor Tribute award to Will Ferrell at the 2017 festival’s award ceremony November 10th at the Lincoln Theater in Yountville.

The Napa Valley Film Festival’s Caldwell Vineyard Maverick Actor Tribute honors actors who have achieved iconic status within the entertainment industry through their unique characters and portrayals. Ferrell has earned his Maverick status with a collection of unforgettable performances in such films as Elf, Anchorman, Talladega Nights, Stranger Than Fiction, and Blades of Glory, as well as his seven-year stint on Saturday Night Live.

Vintner John Caldwell will honor Mr. Ferrell with the Maverick award—an inscribed three-liter bottle of Caldwell Vineyard Gold Cabernet Sauvignon—on stage at 5pm at the Lincoln Theater in Yountville. Ferrell will stay for a special extended conversation followed by a screening of his film, Stranger than Fiction, at 5:45pm.

“The Napa Valley Film Festival is one of Napa’s coolest events,” says John Caldwell. “It combines great films with the best of the wine and food we’re famous for around here, As for Ferrell, what can you say? The guy’s one of a kind. Fearless, committed, and totally original. It’s awesome to get to give this maverick the respect he deserves.”
