The Science Behind Terroir

July 6 @ 7:00 am - 12:00 pm PDT

A stellar line-up of panelists discusses Catena’s MALBEC TERROIR publication in Scientific Reports (a Nature magazine), and the future impact of climate change on terroir.

The Catena Institute of Wine, led by Dr. Laura Catena, invites you to an in-depth webinar on ‘terroir’ featuring a number of the world’s leading experts in this field. Our ground-breaking research paper published earlier this  year, irrefutably proves the existence of terroir and its persistence across vintage. A stellar line-up of panelists will bring the results of this study to life, dissecting the di erent factors that make up the concept of ‘terroir’ and showing how through scientific evidence and research, the study of terroir can and must inform and influence wine-making decisions, now and in the future.

The webinar will highlight the ongoing importance of science in preserving and protecting our wine-making regions worldwide, as well as demonstrating the need for international collaboration in response to climate change, ensuring a sustainable approach to viticulture for generations ahead.

The webinar will focus on Malbec and Catena’s vineyard sites in Mendoza, yet will also cover important research studies in California and Burgundy. The 1-hour webinar will be presented by the above speakers and will be followed by a 20 min Q&A session.
