Napa Valley Vintners $1 Million Investment Supports New Family Resource Center

Multi-Purpose Facility Opens to American Canyon Residents

Napa Family Resource Center Opening5/25/2022 – On Tuesday, May 24, residents in south Napa County welcomed the opening of a new Family Resource Center (FRC) with support from Napa Valley Vintners, Napa Valley Unified School District, the Napa Valley Education Foundation, On the Move, and the city of American Canyon.

In 2018, Napa Valley Vintners donated $1 million toward building the integrated family center on the Napa Junction school campus.

Offering services in English and Spanish on the campus of Napa Junction Elementary, the center joins five other school-based facilities throughout Napa County that act as important hubs for families and residents.

Organizers anticipate that use of the center will be significant in areas such as adult education and job skills training, parenting classes, emergency assistance and referrals to outside organizations.

“We’re thrilled to see the center open to families in American Canyon and to know that they have easy access to help and resources on the school campus. Napa Valley’s most precious resource is its people, and we’re humbled to be able to invest in significant endeavors such as this,” said Jack Bittner, Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Napa Valley Vintners and Managing Partner at OVID. Napa Valley.

Through focused giving, NVV and its members have made a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families in American Canyon and throughout Napa County.  Since 2016 NVV has invested over $6 million in the American Canyon community through early childhood education initiatives and investments in nonprofits who serve American Canyon. This is inclusive of a $2 million gift to help build the Boys & Girls Clubhouse in American Canyon.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, NVV’s nonprofit partners have provided more than 27,000 services to health care, disaster relief, out-of-school care and other safety-net services.

NVV has donated more than $200 million to Napa County non-profits over the last 40 years, focusing on strategic initiatives for health care and youth development. NVV’s giving touches the lives of more than 100,000 people annually.

Funds raised at the upcoming Collective Napa Valley Barrel Auction weekend will go toward caring for children’s mental health and wellbeing through the expansion of wellness center programming on Napa County school campuses.
