A Comprehensive Leadership Program for the Napa County Vineyard Workforce with Complimentary OLE Health Pop-up Clinic

Napa, CA (November 1, 2019) – The Napa Valley Farmworker Foundation announces its Leadership, Management, and Best Practices program, a comprehensive 3-day program dedicated to leadership and communication skills, education on viticultural best practices, and safety in the workplace. Spanish language seminars will be presented by industry experts in management, vineyard research, ag safety, immigration, insurance services, and more.

In addition to an impressive lineup of educational courses and speakers, attendees have access to the Napa Valley Grapegrowers’ ROOTSTOCK 2019, a symposium focused on advances in wine and vineyard technology, innovations in vineyard research, and an exhibitor experience showcasing agricultural tools, equipment and services.

Finally, in partnership with OLE Health, all program attendees are invited to participate in a pop-up health screening clinic – a new, complimentary, addition for 2019.

Presented by the Napa Valley Farmworker Foundation (FWF), 2019 program highlights include:

  • An Immigration Forum on Recent Changes to Immigration Policy, hosted by Madeline Feldon, Attorney, Immigration Institute of the Bay Area.
  • The fundamentals of Leadership, Management, and Communication Skills for the Workplace, instructed by Hector Corona, Account Executive, Pan American Insurance Services for successful leaders and team members.
  • Viticultural education on Soil Health and Nutrition given by Miguel Garcia, Napa County Resource Conservation District.
  • A California Highway Patrol presentation on Security & Safety, hosted by Officer Custodio Lopez.
  • Does Sprinkler Use Affect Wine Quality? – with comparative tasting, a research trial by Sarah Ferguson, Viticulturist, Silverado Farming Company.
  • AgSafe training on the Top 10 OSHA Violations.
  • Passes to attend ROOTSTOCK 2019 on November 14.
  • *New for 2019* An OLE Health pop-up health clinic offering BMI, blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar, and behavioral health screenings.

The Leadership, Management and Best Practices program maintains a long-standing reputation for excellence and has been hosted by the Napa Valley Farmworker Foundation for over a decade; it is free to attend for all Napa County vineyard workers.
