NAPA, California, September 10, 2019 – The Sorting Table, LLC, the Napa-based importer of choice for unparalleled family-owned wines from across the globe, is pleased to share an exciting addition to its portfolio of boutique growers.
Effective immediately, the Sorting Table announces exclusive U.S. import rights to the wines of Sassetti Livio Pertimali, an historic Tuscan family winery rooted in Brunello di Montalcino, with additional properties in the Maremma and the Veneto. The family of Livio Sassetti has produced wine in Montalcino for over three generations, owning 16 hectares of vineyards on the Montosoli hill north of Montalcino, long considered one of the most important vineyard sites in the appellation.
Their Brunello di Montalcino DOCG is lauded as a classically proportioned wine with a definitive style that dances on the palate. In 1999, the Sassetti family acquired property in the Maremma, La Querciolina, within the Montecucco DOC. Recently, they began developing a small property of Glera in the Prosecco DOCG because winemaker Lorenzo Sassetti was interested in making a white wine that required very low sulfites.
All three properties are currently managed by Lorenzo Sassetti and his wife Sabina La Brusco Sassetti who will travel regularly to the U.S. in support their business.
The Sorting Table will import three distinct Brunelli di Montalcino DOCG and Rosso wines as well as Montecucco DOC and Prosecco Superiore Valdobbiadene DOCG. The Sassetti Pertimali wines are currently available in major U.S. cities with wider availability for the holiday season.
