September 23, 2025 (Panzano in Chianti, Italy) — At over 500 metres above sea level, among silence and wind, harvest at Montefili is never a mechanical gesture: it is a ritual of patience and precision, where every cluster is picked by hand, as a gift that nature chooses to offer.

The 2025 vintage required respect and care.
Winter brought steady rains, which supported healthy vegetative growth in spring, despite the latter’s cooler-than-average temperatures. Summer was warm but never torrid, marked by significant nocturnal shifts that preserved acidity and fragrance.
Unexpected September rains sustained the vines through the final stage of ripening, gifting us a vintage of remarkable quality and with great ageing potential.
Each parcel — with its own voice and character — will be harvested separately, in harmony with the attitudes of the different soils. Yields will be deliberately kept low to highlight concentration and finesse.
“Harvest is not only the moment of gathering, but the time when the vineyard tells the story of its entire year. We listen, with humility and precision, knowing that Montefili’s future is born from this silent dialogue,” confirms Serena Gusmeri, winemaker and agronomist.
Now, the cellar is alive with fermentations. It will take months, years, for the true character of these wines to fully emerge. Yet within this waiting lies Montefili’s promise: wines born of time, altitude, and uncompromising care.
