Preserve the Past, Power the Future: 2025 Annual Harvest Dinner & Auction to Benefit Bale Grist Mill Restoration and Napa Valley State Parks Preservation

August 21, 2025 (St. Helena, CA) — The Napa Valley State Parks Association’s (NVSPA) Annual Harvest Dinner & Auction returns to Bale Grist Mill State Historic Park on Saturday, September 20, 2025, from 5:30pm – 9:30pm. Guests will enjoy an unforgettable evening under the autumn night sky, set against the backdrop of the 179-year-old water-powered grist mill with its massive wooden water wheel. The evening features live music, local wines and libations, seasonal hors d’oeuvres, a farm-to-table dinner, and a spirited live auction in support of all three of Napa Valley’s State Parks.

This year’s event is especially meaningful, as proceeds generated from ticket sales and the auction will help fund the Bale Grist Mill Restoration Campaign, a $400,000 major initiative to restore the mill’s historic redwood siding and wooden water flume before its 180th anniversary in 2026. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Bale Grist Mill is one of the last operating water-powered mills in the United States – a rare living landmark where thousands of visitors each year experience hands-on milling demonstrations, guided tours, and educational programs. Funds raised will also sustain ongoing maintenance and preservation across all Napa Valley State Parks.

The NVSPA is pleased to announce that Castello di Amorosa is the presenting sponsor for this year’s event. “Castello di Amorosa and the Dario Sattui family are supporting patrons and are committed to helping to ensure that the parks are preserved for future generations,” said Cathie Bennett Warner, the President of the Board of Directors for the NVSPA. “It is through the generous contributions of patrons like Castello di Amorosa and the more than 150 donors from our community that the NVSPA is able to produce such an incredible evening for all to enjoy,” said Bennett Warner.

Tickets for the Harvest Dinner & Auction sell out quickly. Secure tickets to the event by visiting the NVSPA website at www.napavalleystateparks.org. Can’t attend in person? The NVSPA also hosts an online auction. The online preview begins today, Thursday, August 21, with bidding from September 4 – 18. Bidders will find an array of unique items and experiences donated from businesses throughout Napa Valley and all proceeds will directly support the restoration campaign and parks preservation.
