August 20, 2025 (Calistoga, CA) — After decades of shaping some of Napa Valley’s most celebrated wines, acclaimed winemaker Sally Johnson Blum is stepping into the spotlight with STEREOGRAPH, a new project founded with her husband, design innovator Max Blum. The new brand, which blends artful design with small-lot, expressive winemaking, debuts today with its inaugural releases: the 2024 Napa Valley Chenin Blanc and the 2023 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon.
STEREOGRAPH is the culmination of two distinct creative paths. Sally Johnson Blum is a renowned winemaker with nearly 30 vintages and multiple 100-point scores to her name, who continues to consult for several top-tier Napa Valley and Washington wine projects. For her, STEREOGRAPH is a passion project and a profound personal statement.
“After nearly 30 vintages, STEREOGRAPH is an opportunity to create wines that are my own personal expression,” says Sally. “It’s a project where I have the freedom to be more experimental and to select fruit from some of my favorite, most distinctive vineyards in Napa Valley.
STEREOGRAPH reflects both my love for the region and my belief in making wines with depth, balance, and authenticity.”
Max Blum brings a creative counterpoint to Sally’s winemaking precision. An accomplished graphic artist and musician, he co-founded a successful marketing firm that created compelling brand platforms for the wine industry. He also has a deep interest in early photography, with a particular passion for stereography—a technique that uses two images to create a single three-dimensional view. This concept of combining two perspectives to form a complete picture is the core inspiration behind the brand.

“STEREOGRAPH is about more than just labels and packaging; it’s about creating an experience,” says Max. “Sally shapes the wine in the bottle, and I shape the way it’s seen and felt. Together, we want STEREOGRAPH to resonate on every level, from the wines to the story behind it.”
The inaugural release includes a 2024 Napa Valley Chenin Blanc from the historic Henry Pope Valley Vineyard, planted in 1947, and a 2023 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. These wines are the first two expressions of the brand’s commitment to authenticity, independence, rarity, and distinction.
Future releases will expand the collection with an Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon and a Red Blend called “X2,” set to debut in the spring of 2026.
