April 28th – With the support of the Agència Catalana de Turisme, Tarragona Turisme, the Patronat de Turisme de la Costa Daurada, DO Empordà Wine Route and the DOP Cava, the International Wine Tourism Conference (IWINETC) has seen once again the best education, the best business and the best networking for the wine and culinary tourism industry with over 900 business meetings taking place and over 150 attendees gathering in Tarragona for the three days of the event.
Exhibiting destinations from more than 30 countries around the world were in attendance, including representation of Armenia, Croatia, The Czech Republic, France, Italy, Montenegro, Portugal and Turkey as well as Wine Routes from the host destination including Alella, Empordà – Costa Brava, Lleida, Tarragona and Penedès.
30 high quality buyers were present from key wine tourism markets such as Scandinavian countries, USA and Canada and key markets in Europe such as Germany and the UK.
The IWINETC conference programme of 16 talks, panel discussions and master class wine tastings were well-attended. Speaker notes are now available for download on the IWINETC website.
