V Foundation for Cancer Research Announces 25th Anniversary Wine Celebration – August 3-6, 2023

Silver anniversary event to celebrate 25 years of impact and support research on therapeutic resistance for all cancers.

April 20, 2023, Napa Valley, CA – Commemorating its silver anniversary, the 25th Annual V Foundation Wine Celebration will take place August 3-6, 2023 in the heart of the Napa Valley. The event offers four days of wine, food, and fun while raising awareness and money for cancer research. Since 1999, the V Foundation Wine Celebration has raised over $137 million, benefiting the V Foundation for Cancer Research. This annual signature series of events demonstrates that commitment, passion and giving become the catalyst for positive change.

The 2023 theme, “Ignite Impact” celebrates 25 years of raising money and awareness for game-changing cancer research and all-star scientists to accelerate Victory Over Cancer®. Funds raised will support research on therapeutic resistance for all cancers.

Hosted by Mike “Coach K” Krzyzewski, former Head Coach of Duke University Men’s Basketball, the V Foundation Wine Celebration includes a thought-provoking cancer symposium, exclusive wine and culinary events featuring the region’s world-renowned vintners, chefs and restaurateurs, and concludes with the silver anniversary Gala Dinner & Auction.

Event highlights include:

Thursday, August 3 

  • Humanitarians & Founders Luncheon at the private Wappo Hill Estate of Jean-Charles Boisset and Vintner Grant Honoree Gina Gallo.  
  • A unique hallmark of the Wine Celebration, Dinner with the Docs will be held at HALL St. Helena, hosted by proprietors Craig & Kathryn Hall. The evening provides a unique opportunity to engage with some of the nation’s leading physicians and research scientists from prominent universities and cancer centers who represent the V Foundation’s Scientific Advisory Committee.

Friday, August 4

  • V Foundation Presidents Club and Vintner Grant Honorees will be celebrated with a private luncheon at Spottswoode Estate, hosted by Vintner Grant Honoree, Beth Novak Milliken, President & CEO of Spottswoode Estate.
  • Friday’s “Rock the V” party at The Estate Yountville will showcase some of the region’s best food and wine, with an exclusive concert featuring a festival line up of surprise musical guests to get the crowd dancing under a Napa Valley starlit evening. Rock the V concludes with the ever-popular Silent Disco in the Estate’s Barrel Room.

Saturday, August 5 

  • Answer for Cancer Research Symposium at The Social at The Estate Yountville featuring V Foundation Grantees where they will share the advances and impact on cancer research today.  Attendees will learn more about therapeutic resistance for all cancers and discover the work behind the V Foundation’s vision of Victory Over Cancer®.
  • Following the symposium, Time for Three, the two-time 2023 GRAMMY award winners for Best Classical Instrumental Solo and Best Contemporary Classical Composition, will perform at the Music as Healing Luncheon, held in the West Pavilion at The Estate Yountville. Time For Three combines Americana, modern pop and classical music, where various eras, styles, and traditions of Western music fold in on themselves and emerge anew. The Music as Healing Luncheon will feature dynamic programming that will span storytelling, research, and musical performance. 
  • The highlight of the weekend, Saturday’s black-tie Gala Dinner & Auction will be held at Nickel & Nickel Estate Winery in Oakville, Napa Valley. The event will be hosted by Mike “Coach K” Krzyzewski and the 25th-anniversary honoree and host, Beth Nickel.
