(December 20, 2022) – Leading U.S. wine & spirits importer Palm Bay International and prestigious New Zealand winery Yealands Wines are pleased to announce the arrival of the Lighter Sauvignon Blanc, the newest addition to its line of premium quality sustainable wines.

The Yealands Lighter Sauvignon Blanc, in its inaugural 2022 vintage, is a wine filled with juicy tropical fruit flavors, fully embracing the typicity of the iconic New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc style. Carefully selected parcels of Sauvignon Blanc from the winery’s Awatere and Wairau Valley vineyards were used to craft this wine, known for highly aromatic, herbaceous, and tropical fruit flavors with underlying purity and minerality. The vines were carefully managed to reach ideal balance and flavor concentration at lower sugar levels, producing a low-alcohol wine.

With a 9% alcohol content, it’s a great option for consumers looking for a guilt-free, lower alcohol wine of premium quality. Consumer interest in moderating consumption of alcohol has been steadily increasing over the past decade, creating a long-term market opportunity for lower alcohol wines. The lower alcohol wine category is valued at over $1bn in the US, according to IWSR, and has forecast volume CAGR growth of approximately 27% for lower alcohol still wine.

Produced by a leader in sustainable winemaking, Yealands was the first vineyard in the world to be certified as carboNZeroCert since inception and has received 1,700+ sustainability awards and accolades. Yealands believes in creating thoughtfully crafted wines that work in harmony with their landscape.

Gluten-free, vegan, and with less than 85 calories per glass, the Lighter Sauvignon Blanc has pronounced fresh aromas of snow pea flowers, blackcurrant leaf, citrus and tropical fruits. Its palate is lively and herbaceous with flavors of lemongrass, lime, and kiwi fruits, and a lengthy, balanced zesty finish. Serve chilled and enjoy it with a wide array of seafood dishes, chicken, salads, and pastas.

The 2022 vintage of the Yealands Lighter Sauvignon Blanc is currently available nationwide, with a suggested retail price of $15.99 per 750ml bottle.
