McBeth started out life wanting to be an astrophysicist and was an aerospace engineer for two years at the start of his career. He was also a successful professional poker player and a technical sales rep for Cisco, but didn’t find fulfillment until he started to work with start-ups. He loved the idea of helping to get something new off the ground. After McBeth moved to Napa and discovered a passion for wine, he found himself hunting for a more authentic experience. After an inspired conversation with Dan Zepponi, President/CEO at Cuvaison Estate Wines, the idea of Melier began to take shape. Realizing there was no trusted resource to inform people about how to enjoy the ultimate wine country lifestyle, nor organization that was supporting the smaller, independent producers, McBeth knew there was an opportunity here to create something truly special, and Melier was born.
