Winery Will Also Introduce First-Ever Online Store on September 1st, Featuring Flat Top Hills 2021 Pinot Noir

Napa, CA, August 18, 2022 – Rounding out its collection of approachable, quaffable wines, Flat Top Hills is introducing a new 2021 Pinot Noir, timed to coincide with International Pinot Noir Day today. Crafted with meticulous attention to detail and focus on quality, the new wine complements Flat Top Hills’ existing lively Whites and rich Red offerings.

“This is perhaps the most versatile wine in our lineup,” said Angelina Mondavi, consulting winemaker and member of the fourth generation of the C. Mondavi family. “Our Pinot Noir is incredibly food-friendly but also offers the complexity to enjoy on its own. It’s a bottle I’ll reach for throughout the fall and into the Holiday season.”

On the nose, the Flat Top Hills Pinot Noir offers ripe raspberry and cherry aromas, along with savory herbs and a touch of mint. Flavors of plum combine with earthy cedar and tobacco. The wine has bright acidity and a lingering finish.

“We always thought a Pinot Noir made sense for our line, but we needed to find the right vineyard sources,” said Randy Herron, head winemaker. “We chose to blend our new Pinot Noir from a few different growing regions, so we were able to highlight distinct nuances in the fruit. Warmer vineyards, like our own Dunnigan Hills vines and those from District 17, provide lots of body, while cooler areas like Carneros and Monterey lend the beautiful bright acidity and red stone fruit flavors.”

Hear more about the wine, including tasting notes and suggested food pairings, directly from Randy Herron and Angelina Mondavi in a new video which will be shared on Facebook and Instagram today. Wine and culinary personality Oscar Peralta, of Beyond The Taste, chatted with the winemaking duo about their inspiration for the wine, favorite dishes and more.

The new Pinot Noir, and the full Flat Top Hills line, will also be available for purchase directly from the winery’s website for the first time ever on September 1st. Ecommerce capabilities on FlatTopWines.com will allow wine consumers to have Flat Top Hills delivered right to their door.

“Shopping habits have changed so much in the past two years – being able to purchase directly from our website is the right thing for our fans. Partnering with VinoShipper makes it easy. Their platform is streamlined, flexible, and integrates well with our systems,” said Pam Novak, Senior Marketing Director, C. Mondavi & Family. “Adding this new capability to our site means we’re able to build stronger connections with our consumers.”

The new online shopping feature debuts on FlatTopWines.com on September 1st. In addition to the website, the new Flat Top Hills Pinot Noir (SRP $15.99) will be available at retail and restaurant locations nationwide. The Flat Top Hills collection also includes juicy Rosé (SRP $13.99), crisp Sauvignon Blanc (SRP $13.99), balanced Chardonnay (SRP $13.99), lush Buttery Chardonnay (SRP $13.99), rich Red Blend (SRP $15.99), and velvety Cabernet Sauvignon (SRP $15.99).
