California brands Angels & Cowboys and Cannonball to be poured at the longest-running women-only professional tennis tournament

Healdsburg CA – August 3: SHARE A SPLASH wine co. is proud to announce a wine partnership with the Mubadala Silicon Valley Classic, a week-long tennis event showcasing the best women’s tennis players in the world. Angels & Cowboys Brut, the traditional method, non-vintage sparkler from the Sonoma-centric brand will be the featured sparkling wine, while the classic California brand Cannonball’s Cabernet Sauvignon 2019 will be the featured red pour.

Taking place in the Bay Area, the Mubadala Silicon Valley Classic is a WTA 500 level event that is the first women’s event in the US Open Series. Co-founded in 1971 by the legendary Billie Jean King, it is the longest-running women-only professional tennis tournament in the world. SHARE A SPLASH founder Yoav Gilat remarked, “We couldn’t be prouder to support this long-running event dedicated to spotlighting the incredible female athletes in the tennis world.” Gilat continued “Both these wines were produced by our fantastic head winemaker Ondine Chattan, an incredible female talent in the wine world.”

Wines that are unpretentious, inclusive, and made for sharing inspired the Cannonball label. Gilat founded Cannonball Wine Company in 2006 with a singular vision – to create the best sub $20 California Cabernet on the market. Today the brand elevates the everyday with their all-California sourced range that also includes Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, and Merlot.

Launched in 2014 after his initial success with Cannonball, Angels & Cowboys is a collaboration between Yoav Gilat and Northern California graphic designer Michael Schwab. Honoring the trailblazer and the rule breaker in all of us, Sonoma-based Angels and Cowboys creates blends that take inspiration from classic French wines and infuses them with California’s bolder style. The range includes the Provençal-styled Sonoma County Rosé, the blended Sonoma County Proprietary Red and two traditional-method sparklers Angels & Cowboys Brut and Brut Rosé.

The Mubadala Silicon Valley Classic tournament runs from August 1-7, 2022, at the San José State University Tennis Center. The SHARE A SPLASH wines will be featured at Ladies Day, an exclusive luncheon on August 3 and 4, and can be found in the Plaza Club throughout the tournament.
