(July 14, 2022; Buellton, Calif.)—Santa Barbara County’s Alma Rosa Winery’s third annual Peace of Mind: 10,000 Steps in the Right Direction fundraising walk will take place on Saturday, July 23, 2022, at 9:00 a.m. at the Alma Rosa Ranch in the heart of the Sta. Rita Hills. The 10,000-step, approximately 4.5-mile, walk will feature varied terrain and sweeping views of the estate vineyards. Interested participants may visit the event’s website to register for the walk, view leaderboards or make personal donations to the beneficiary of their choice: One Mind or Mental Wellness Center in Santa Barbara.

Online registration for Peace of Mind will close on Friday, July 22 at 5:00 p.m. and event check-in will begin at 8:00 a.m. on July 23, with the walk scheduled to start at 9:00 a.m. Parking will be available onsite at 7250 Santa Rosa Road, Buellton, CA, and the walk is expected to last approximately two hours. Guests will have the opportunity to enjoy a glass of wine and other refreshments at the top of the estate while taking in sweeping hilltop views of the vineyards, followed by a small reception at the Alma Rosa Ranch House at the end of the walk. Additional refreshments will be provided by this year’s event sponsors, including IQBARCoastal Community Builders SunButterLiquid I.V.UNiTE Food and Genuis Juice.

Originally conceived by Alma Rosa’s proprietors Bob and Barb Zorich and General Manager Debra Eagle to support community services for mental health, research and treatment for anxiety and depression, the winery’s Peace of Mind fundraising campaign has raised $345,000 over the last two years. This year, the Zorichs will be matching donations dollar-for-dollar, up to $35,000 for each benefitting organization, for a total of $70,000.

“We cannot wait to welcome guests to our estate this month to participate in our upcoming fundraising walk,” says General Manager Debra Eagle. “Anxiety and depression continue to take a toll on our communities and we hope to continue to be a part of the solution—your generous donations directly fund the critical initiatives of these two organizations.”
