LAKE BLUFF, IL (May 23, 2022) – Established in 1938, fourth generation family owned and operated Terlato Wines today announced the promotion of Tony Terlato Jr. to the role of Chief of Staff.

This newly established position will provide Tony an opportunity to work alongside some of Terlato’s subject matter experts in areas such as marketing, finance and strategy and will enable him to more deeply engage with our supplier partners to build upon our meaningful, long-term relationships.

Sandra LeDrew, President and Chief Operating Officer, for Terlato Wines said, “Terlato lives by the mantra of ‘continuous improvement’ both in our business and with our people.  While Tony is working on his MBA, we also wanted to provide him with a well-rounded and experiential view of the business to further increase his professional development.  Tony is a tremendous relationship builder and has a deep knowledge of the industry and, as a fourth generation Terlato family member, I can’t think of a more appropriate person for this role as we continue to grow and expand our business.”

Tony began his career at Terlato Wines in 2017 as the Regional Sales Manager for the Midwest.  In 2019 he was promoted to National on-premise Sales Director and in 2020 was promoted to Vice President of National Accounts.

Tony started his career as an on-premise sales representative at Southern Wine & Spirits.  In 2014 he was promoted to account manager for the Signature Division of Southern Wine and Spirits.  In 2015, Tony moved to New York City, to join Empire Merchants as a Field Sales Manager in Manhattan and Brooklyn and has achieved Level 3 certification from the Wine & Spirits Education Trust.  Tony is currently pursuing his MBA from Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

As a young adult, Tony completed multiple internships in the industry at Sanford, Chimney Rock, and Rutherford Hill wineries in California. He also spent a summer working in the Rhone Valley of France. He has studied both the production and retail aspects of winemaking. Tony holds a bachelor’s degree in History from Duke University, as well as a Markets and Management certificate.

When asked about his new position, Tony said, “It’s an honor to take on this new responsibility. I’m eager to work alongside our senior leaders and learn more deeply about the various functions within the business that contribute to Terlato being a world-class organization. Just as important, I am humbled at the opportunity to build upon and strengthen relationships with our valued supplier partners. These relationships were established by my grandfather and my father over many decades and these partnerships are paramount in our continued pursuit of excellence as luxury beverage company.”

Tony will report directly to Sandra LeDrew and will maintain his position on the Terlato Leadership Team.
