May 4th – Breakthru Beverage Group today announced the expansion of its partnership with Pride Mountain Vineyards into the Illinois market. Illinois is the sixth market where Breakthru distributes Pride Mountain’s unique portfolio. Florida, Illinois and Las Vegas are served by Aspect, Breakthru’s uniform, cohesive portfolio solution for the rapidly growing fine wine space that brings a heightened focus on education, account segmentation, data and insights to better service supplier and customer partners. The Delaware, Maryland and Washington, D.C. markets are served by Breakthru affiliate Bacchus Importers, Ltd.

“Fine wine continues to boom as consumers are looking to trade up for unique, higher quality wines and want to truly understand the story behind those brands,” said Adam Pizer, VP, Business Development, Wine at Breakthru. “We take the responsibility of representing all our brands in the last mile to the consumer very seriously and pride ourselves on building long-lasting relationships founded on strong performance and trusted counsel. Having already worked closely with the Pride Mountain family, we know what it takes to elevate their unique portfolio and look forward to sharing their products with Illinois consumers.”

Pride Mountain Vineyards sits at 2100 ft elevation atop Napa Valley’s Spring Mountain at the site of the historic Summit Ranch, where wine grapes have been grown since 1885. The beautiful estate includes wine caves dug deep into the mountains and the ruins of the old stone Summit Winery dating to 1890. As you walk the vineyards, there are 360-degree views with Mount St. Helena and the Vaca Mountains to the north and east and the Sonoma Coastal Ranges to the west and south. Pride’s historic ranch straddles the Napa-Sonoma county line and, for this reason, the estate wines carry a Napa-Sonoma designation.

Pride Mountain Vineyards was established in 1990 by Jim and Carolyn Pride. Today, the winery is owned and operated by the second generation of the Pride family with the third generation working alongside the team in production and marketing. Winemaking is led by 100-point winemaker Sally Johnson-Blum. Alongside Steve Pride, David Orozco, the Pride’s first employee, continues to lead farming operations as Ranch Foreman. Their dedicated artistry is the backbone of Pride wines.
