March 15, 2022 (Washington, Tex) Chapelton Vineyards – a new family-owned winery and vineyard – is pleased to announce the celebration of its grand opening. Founded in 2014, the 70-acre destination estate in the heart of historic Washington County is more than a winery and event center. With abundant Blanc du Bois, Merlot and Tempranillo grapes, intimate picnic spots, a fishing pond, and Mediterranean-style villas for rent, Chapelton is redefining the modern vineyard experience.
“It’s a very exciting moment for our family, but equally important, it is a bold move for our community, and we are overjoyed to start welcoming guests to our estate,” said Co-founder Kurt Lyn.
The vineyard is celebrating with a private grand opening event including local leaders, community stakeholders, family, friends, and press. The vineyard hosts several experiences and events flows, including a barndominium, luxury villas for rent, and capacity for weddings and celebrations up to 150 persons.
“We are looking forward to sharing this space with our founder’s club members, the local community, as well as visitors from far and wide. We are confident that their visit will leave a memorable experience of Washington County,” said Lyn.
The modern design of the winery was built to take advantage of the expansive views of the area. The focal points of the estate include a west overlook of the estate vineyards. About one hour from Houston and three miles from Washington on the Brazos State Park, the estate is located next to the last residence of Anson Jones, the last president of the Republic of Texas. Thirty minutes from Brenham and 40 minutes from College Station, the venue vision is unlike any other event destination within a 200 mile radius of Houston.
With a fully appointed commercial kitchen for guest chefs and events, and Texas wine offerings, private tastings are offered by appointment only via info@chapeltonvineyards.com. Chapelton Vineyards is slated to donate a percentage of all events to select charities.
Founded by Kurt and Michelle Lyn who split their time between Houston and Washington, The Lyns are welcoming guests Friday-Sunday by reservation only. A rotating series of events and programming will be announced throughout the year.
