Second-generation Willamette Valley winery reaffirms commitment to sustainability, community and equity

Newberg, Ore. (March 10, 2022) – Reaffirming its posture as a socially and environmentally conscious winery, Et Fille has received its B-Corp Certification, an accreditation awarded to organizations that use the power of business to build a more inclusive and sustainable economy.

“Receiving our B-Corp Certification is truly an important milestone for our business” said Jessica Mozeico, president and winemaker of Et Fille Wines. “As a winery, we are tied to our land, seasons and the community. Our goal is to leave each of those in a better place for the next generation. B-Corp Certification is a formalized way to hold ourselves accountable to raise social and environmental consciousness and action.”

In addition to producing high-quality Willamette Valley wines, Mozeico and her team share three commitments in social and environmental consciousness that lend themselves to the B-Corp Certification:

Sustainability: Et Fille partners with sustainably farmed vineyards, with each of its wines packaged in lighter weight, predominantly locally sourced, recyclable components.

Community: Et Fille initiates projects that provide funding for organizations that seek to improve the community for the next generation.

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion: As a business owned by a biracial woman, the winery seeks to support suppliers that are owned and/or managed by underrepresented communities. Et Fille is also Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) certified, meaning the business is at least 51 percent owned, controlled, operated and managed by a woman or women. It is also a Benefit Corporation, serving as a legal tool to create a solid foundation for a long-term mission alignment and value creation.

Et Fille joins the exclusive list of Oregon wineries that have achieved a Certified B-Corp distinction, including: A to Z Wineworks, Winderlea Vineyard and Winery, Sokol Blosser Winery, Patton Valley Vineyard, Stoller Family Estate, Chehalem Winery, Brooks Winery and David Hill Vineyards and Winery.

Certified B Corporations are businesses that go through a rigorous assessment of the company’s impact on its workers, customers, community, and environment. The larger community of B Corp includes 150 industries, 71 countries, and 1 unifying goal: to better social, economic and environmental injustice.

Both sharing a passion for wine, they started the winery with the goal of creating vintages that bring together family, friends and warm conversation over shared meals. The winery is in its second generation with Jessica making elegantly complex wine inspired by her late father’s legacy and her own daughter’s future. For more information, visit www.etfillewines.com
