Short List Announced for the 2021 Golden Vines Awards

9 September – Organised by Liquid Icons, the not-for-profit Golden Vine® Awards recognises the ‘star performers of the  fine wine industry’, as well as raising funds for the Gerard Basset Foundation with the aim of funding  diversity and inclusion-related wine education programmes, including the headline Taylor’s Port Golden  Vines Diversity Scholarships, worth £55,000 each for two BAME/BIPOC students studying for the Master  of Wine or Master Sommelier programmes. 

The short list for five Golden Vines Awards were announced by Tony Harries, the owner and editor of  Winefullness Magazine, last night at the Golden Vines One Month To Go Party, sponsored by Moet &  Hennessy and Dom Pérignon. The event took place at The Connaught Hotel, the Golden Vines Official Hotel  Sponsor. 

442 leading fine wine professionals from 55 countries completed detailed surveys for The 2021 Gerard  Basset Global Fine Wine Report, as well as voting for the winners of The Golden Vines® Awards. Those  who voted included 57 Masters of Wine, 31 Master Sommeliers, 140 DipWSET and 77 Advanced  Sommeliers. The voting poll was independently adjudicated by Deloitte LLP, in accordance with the voting  rules published on Liquid Icons website. The winners of The Golden Vines Award will be announced at The  Golden Vines Awards Ceremony & Dinner, to be held at Annabel’s Private Members Club, London’s pre eminent private members’ club, on 7th October 2021.

The SGC Golden Vines Best Fine Wine Producer in Europe Award:

The short list for two other Golden Vines Awards was announced on 6th July at The Macallan Golden Vines  Dinner, as well as the winner of The Oeno Golden Vines Honorary Award which was awarded to Steven  Spurrier posthumously.
