Dates Announced for “Taste of Terroir” Wine Dinner Series in the Santa Cruz Mountains

Live events open to the public from June through November showcasing the prestigious AVA’s unique subregions, iconic wineries and signature grape varieties

April 20, 2021 (SANTA CRUZ, Calif.)––Wines of the Santa Cruz Mountains, the marketing organization for more than 70 wineries and 200 growers located in the Santa Cruz Mountains American Viticultural Area (AVA), announces the return of its “Taste of Terroir” Wine Dinner Series. A series of four dinners will be hosted from June through November with tickets ranging from $135 – $160 per seat. Series highlights include the Pinot Noir Harvest Dinner and the Premier Cruz Dinner featuring hard-to-get wines from the region.

Guests will once again be able to join vintners of the Santa Cruz Mountains for four wine pairing events featuring award-winning wines and food at spectacular locations. Each evening features a multicourse food pairing with top Santa Cruz Mountain wines from well-known producers like Ridge and Mount Eden Vineyards to boutique wineries and perennial favorites such as Sante Arcangeli, Eden Estate Wines, Thomas Fogarty, Alfaro Family Vineyards and Lester Estate Wines.

The series was canceled last year due to the COVID-19 outbreak and its return has been highly anticipated. This year, seating is limited and will follow all California state COVID-19 protocols in place at the time of the event. Each dinner will take place at a different winery in the Santa Cruz AVA and will start with a wine reception, featuring wine highlighting a subregion of the AVA or a particular grape variety. The Santa Cruz Mountains AVA is known for its signature grape varieties; chardonnay, pinot noir, and cabernet sauvignon. The receptions allow guests to speak to the winemakers to learn more about the region and its wines. During the reception, guests will have a chance to bid on a range of silent auction items. Following the receptions, guests will then sit down for a multi-course, farm-to-table pairing featuring the award-winning wines of the Santa Cruz Mountains.

The series schedule is as follows:
