Season 8 of “Consumed” Podcast Launches with Focus on Women of California’s Central Coast

March 3rd – San Luis Obispo, CA – The popular wine and food podcast, “Consumed”, hosted by journalist Jaime Lewis, has launched its eighth season with a focus on women living and working in wine along California’s Central Coast. Among this season’s guests are Samra Morris, the first Bosnian winemaker in California, who discusses her childhood during the siege of Sarajevo, and connecting with wine pioneer Richard Sanford through wine and war. Other guests include Stephy Terrizzi, of Paso Robles popular Italian-focused wine brand, Giornata Wines, and Macedonian Winemaker, Sonja Magdevski of Casa Dumetz, Clementine Carter and The Feminist Party wines. “This was a very special season for me,” Lewis says. “Every one of these women is  remarkable, period. In just ten discussions, we covered it all: mental health, war, broken hearts, domestic violence, teen pregnancy, racial justice, education, parenting, gender inequity and poverty.”

Each of this season’s ten episodes features a different woman and is an hour in duration. Other guests include Nancy Ulloa, winemaker and owner, Ulloa Cellars (Paso Robles);  Heather Daenitz, founder and podcaster, Craft & Cluster (Orcutt); Robin Puricelli, sommelier at Lido, and winemaker at Locura (Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo Counties); Alondra Torres, vineyard management supervisor, Coastal Vineyard Services (Santa Maria Valley); R.H. Drexel, wine writer and publicist (Atascadero); Sharde Shepherd, cellarmaster (Santa Barbara County), and Riley Roddick, winemaker and owner, Hubba Wines (Paso Robles).

Lewis’ first byline appeared in 2009 beside an interview with author and investigative journalist Michael Pollan. Since then, she has written hundreds of features and columns for publications that include Life & Thyme, Wines & Vines, Vegetarian Times, ITALY Magazine, Fathom, SOMM Journal, The Tasting Panel, 805 Living, SLO Life, Coyote + Oak and Edible San Luis Obispo, where she served as managing editor from 2016 to 2018. Additionally, she has guest-blogged for venerated food writing coach Dianne Jacob. A graduate of Vassar College, Lewis is certified Level III with the Wine & Spirits Education Trust (WSET).
