Ram's Gate Logo(October 15, 2020; Sonoma, Calif.)—As the weather cools down and crisp fall air starts to roll into Sonoma, the sweeping views of the Carneros-based Ram’s Gate Winery’s open-air tasting room will soon be filled with the orange hues of autumnal vineyards. With the change of the seasons, Ram’s Gate, a small-lot fine wine producer, is pleased to introduce two new private outdoor tasting experiences specially crafted for the fall: the Ram’s Gate Veranda Experience and the Arbor Experience.

Guests will enjoy a cozy fireside wine tasting with the Ram’s Gate Veranda Experience, an exclusive experience hosted by a wine expert at Ram’s Gate’s private outdoor fireplace. The tasting includes a tour of the winery, a tasting of five wines, locally sourced cheese and charcuterie as well as a complimentary Ram’s Gate blanket for each guest. This experience is available Thursdays, Fridays, Sundays and Mondays. Pricing is $165 per person.

Amongst the changing autumn colors of the vineyard, the Arbor Experience is a private, six-course, wine-paired tasting with exclusive access for a group of up to 10 people, seated at the winery’s Vineyard Table under the arbor. Guests will be taken on a tour of the winery and vineyards before enjoying a six-course culinary pairing filled with seasonal, locally grown produce prepared by Executive Chef Stacey Combs and paired seamlessly with bottlings hand-selected by Director of Winemaking Joe Nielsen. This two-hour experience is available beginning October 16 and is $275 per person, weather permitting.

“We at Ram’s Gate are dedicated to providing innovative and exciting hospitality experiences for each and every guest that visits our estate,” says Ram’s Gate Managing Director Taylr Behnam Cuneo. “Fall in Wine Country is a beautiful time and we are excited to continue welcoming visitors in a way that is both safe and fits the spirit of the season.”

This fall also marks the release of the first Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs from Nielsen who joined the Ram’s Gate team in 2018. These wines will be featured throughout the tastings and available for purchase at the winery.

“The act of winemaking at Ram’s Gate is a tireless pursuit of driving personality out of the vineyard and into the glass,” says Nielsen. “Our tasting room staff creates experiences that embody these values, every guest will leave truly understanding the spirit of Ram’s Gate, the nuance and verve that each bottling exemplifies.”

Designed by renowned architect Howard Backen, the Ram’s Gate tasting room embodies a modern reinterpretation of the weathered farmsteads of old Carneros, complemented by the work of internationally acclaimed interior designer Orlando Diaz-Azcuy. Backen’s signature farmhouse aesthetic and keen ability to blend the indoor and outdoor spaces connects Ram’s Gate’s 21,000 square feet to its breathtaking surroundings. These new tastings join Ram’s Gate’s two other ongoing hospitality experiences: the Open-Air Tasting, a five-wine flight for $50 per person, and the three-course Wine & Food Pairing Experience for $105 per person.

The Ram’s Gate tasting room is open Thursday-Monday, 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Reservations are required and can be made at https://www.exploretock.com/ramsgatewinery/.
