An upcoming Six Senses resort aims to create the definitive list of the world’s best organic wines

Ibiza, Spain Six Senses Ibiza announced that they need help finding the finest organic wines in the world. The luxury  resort set to open in June of 2021 is determined to host what architect and developer of the project Jonathan Leitersdorf calls  “the most important wine list in the world!”

A luxury resort committed to organics is looking for the 500 best organic wines in the world

Six Senses was recently voted the Top Hotel Brand in the world by readers of Travel + Leisure for the third year running! It was honored for its sustainable practices, healthful living, and uncompromising guest experiences. The company operates 16 resorts and 31 spas worldwide. The Six Senses Ibiza Resort plans to take that sustainable commitment to  the next level with the first sustainable resort and residential community in the Balearics off the coast of Spain. The  resort will feature an organic farm and orchard to supply organic produce for the on-site restaurants. With that level of  commitment to organics, it became obvious that the wine list should be 100% organic as well. They decided to not only  create an organic wine list, but also to make it the largest & highest quality organic wine list in the world.

Phillip Anderson DipWSET was chosen to curate the list with the help of a blue-ribbon advisory board. Phillip has a  background in organic wine and is a student on the Master of Wine study program. He outlined the difficulty of curating  this list. “If we wanted to just put together a terrific wine list featuring organic wines, we could do it quickly. There are  enough great organic wines produced these days around the word to fill a typical wine list several times over. For this  list though the goal is to have the 500 best certified organic wines in the world and that is a more daunting task.” The  other hurdle to clear this year, like many things is related to the COVID-19 pandemic. “In a normal year I would travel to  wine regions around the world to sample wines. I would attend trade wine tastings for all manner of styles and  appellations of wine. This year none of that is possible. I am relying on my notes from previous events and travels and  trying what wines I can. I am asking wineries interested in having their wines considered for this program to contact me.  I know that there are great organic wines out there that I haven’t discovered yet & I want to make sure that they are  included when the Ibiza 500 debuts.” They would also be featured at the Ibiza 500 Wine Festival.

  1. A l’attention de Mr ANDERSON Philipp
    Hello
I participate in Millésimebio. I would like to have an RV with you to introduce you to our Château VIEUX MOUGNAC. Please give me your email address or phone number. We are organic since 1870 and our particularity is to market old vintages of ready-to-drink wines that can be found on the most beautiful tables in France and abroad (the cellar of the Elysée and it is the wine that sells the most at the city of wine in Bordeaux)
I hope to see you soon. Best regards
