Governor Murphy to Announce Governor’s Cup Honorees with Video Message
WHO: Governor Murphy, Tom Cosentino, Executive Director of the Garden State Wine Growers Association, Jerald O’Kennard of Beverage Testing Institute and Doug Fisher, NJ Secretary of Agriculture, will formally announce the winners of this year’s NJ Wine Competition via a Zoom call. Representatives of honored wineries will also join. Governor Murphy will announce the Governor’s Cup winners via a pre-recorded video message.
WHAT: The NJ Wine Competition is held each year and is open to wineries throughout the state. For the third consecutive year the wines in the competition were judged by the esteemed Beverage Testing Institute (BTI) in Illinois headed by Jerald O’Kennard. BTI was able to judge the wines using their own internal social-distance protocols. NJ Wines were submitted for judging from April through the end of August and there were a total of 128 wines judged.
